Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-03
This privacy notice explains how the FundAthlete demonstration website (fundathlete.com) handles personal data. The site is operated as a product demo by BrandingSME on behalf of the FundAthlete concept. It is not a live lending, investment, or regulated advice service.
Controller identity
For enquiries about this demo site, the contact point acting as controller is BrandingSME, reachable at Contact@BrandingSME.com. Postal address details can be provided on request for formal data-subject correspondence.
If FundAthlete later launches as a regulated product, this notice will be updated with the operating entity, FCA (or other) registration details where applicable, and a dedicated Data Protection Officer contact if one is appointed.
What we collect
When you use contact or enquiry flows you may provide name, email address, telephone number, career stage (prospect, professional, investor / post-career, or partner / press), and free-text message content.
Technical data such as IP address, user agent, and basic request logs may be processed by the hosting provider as part of serving the site securely.
Some interactive demos store preferences or transcripts in your browser using localStorage or sessionStorage. Those values do not leave your device unless you export or copy them yourself.
Lawful basis and purposes
Enquiry data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests (responding to funding, advisor, partnership, or acquisition conversations you initiate) and, where you email us directly, steps prior to a possible contract.
We use the information only to reply, to understand which lifecycle stage you care about, and to evaluate partnership interest. We do not sell personal data or use it for unrelated marketing lists.
Retention
Email enquiries are retained only as long as needed to complete the conversation and keep a short audit trail of partnership outreach — typically up to 24 months, unless a longer period is required for legal claims or ongoing negotiations.
Browser storage (localStorage / sessionStorage) persists until you clear site data, use in-product delete controls (for example on the Athlete Funding Coach), or the browser evicts the key.
Processors and international transfers
Hosting, DNS, and email infrastructure may be provided by third-party processors (for example web hosts and mailbox providers). They process data on our instructions to deliver the site and communications.
If a processor stores data outside the UK / EEA, we expect appropriate safeguards such as UK IDTA / EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. Ask Contact@BrandingSME.com for the current processor list.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on applicable law (including UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability for information you provided.
To exercise rights, email Contact@BrandingSME.com with enough detail to locate your enquiry. You may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
Children
The demo is aimed at adult athletes, advisors, and partners. Do not submit personal data about minors through the forms.
